In this five-day class, students will learn the basics of designing and building their own Windsor stool. We’ll explore both traditional and contemporary techniques, along with how to work with raw materials to create a unique, functional piece.

Using hand tools and the lathe, students will shape seats, turn parts, hand shape parts, and learn the joinery fundamentals needed to build a well-crafted stool. Working with a variety of wood, we’ll cover key processes that can be adapted to fit your own woodworking practice.

Who should apply: Those who are underrepresented in the field of woodworking, beginners who would like to build their green woodworking skills.
