Anyone looking for a way into making chairs or other staked furniture pieces can find one here: we'll make a stout three-legged stool using hand tools and techniques common in traditional chairmaking. Students will first learn to make tapered legs from square stock using handplanes, and how to lay out rake and splay angles for the legs. Next we'll use those angles to drill and ream holes in the seat. Finally, we’ll hammer the seat and legs together with glue and wedges.
